     Fashion Background

Cara Drazdik is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from The Fashion School and a minor in marketing.

Her professional journey began at White House Black Market while in high school and in college, where she worked as a sales associate/personal stylist for almost 3 years.  At WHBM, she created versatile and coordinating outfits for customers, made fit recommendations, and gave fashion advice. It was at this job that Cara’s love for styling was reaffirmed and she discovered how much she enjoyed helping other women feel one of a kind and truly beautiful.  She has the ability to create new, put together, and flattering outfits by utilizing what people already have in their closets, giving new life to their clothing.

During her time at Kent State, she participated in the Goodwill Fashion Show for three consecutive years. The challenge was to put together a fashionable look at an affordable price from clothing found at Goodwill.  In 2012, the first year Cara participated; one of the outfits she styled was photographed and featured in the Daily Kent Stater newspaper.  In 2014, she had the opportunity to work one-on-one with Fashion Scholar, Dr. Catherine Amoroso Leslie in an independent study where she explored the position of fashion stylist and learned about body types to develop a style guide. Shortly after, Cara participated in the first Undergraduate Symposium on Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity to present Style Advice from the 1920’s: Past and Present.  In the fall of 2014, she had the opportunity to select and style new dresses for the Kent State Nova Jazz Singers.

Cara interned at a boutique in Medina, Posh Peacock, where she worked with the buyer to select clothing and accessories to be carried in the store, did off-figure styling, and operated a personal blog for the store website called Cara’s Fashion Internship Blog that addressed fashion topics.

Following her graduation from Kent State, Cara became a co-owner and personal style consultant at Shop Your Closet LTD where she took part in relaunching the business and worked with clients. After that she worked as an Assistant Manager at White House Black Market and the Buckle.

She is now excited to announce the start of Styled by Cara LLC. Cara is a firm believer that with all that people deal with in life, they deserve to be able to reach their goals with confidence about the way they look and feel through fashion. She is passionate, determined, caring, detail oriented, and analytical and utilizes these qualities when working with clients. She enjoys putting together the perfect outfit for a client and watching their face light up when they rediscover their beauty.
